On a $65/night sit for 10 nights, Pawshake's 19% takes $123.50 out of the sitter's pay — two and a half years of membership here.
The 19% is Pawshake's own help page: sitters "receive 81% of your advertised price". Mad Paws' ownership is from the Rover acquisition announcement. We only put a number here if we can point at where it came from.

- No booking fee from us. The nightly rate you agree with your sitter is what changes hands — we're not in the middle of it.
- Real names, real contact. Message, call, meet — before you commit to anything.
- Meet-and-greet, up front. Every profile says whether they'll meet you first — and you can filter for it.
- Sitters who actually answer. Once someone's replied to a few messages we show their real median reply time, measured, and label it apart from their own estimate.
- Reviews both ways. You can see how sitters rate owners too — nobody hides.
🐕 If you sit for pets
- Keep every dollar. Pawshake keeps 19% of what you charge. We keep none of it.
- Get paid your way, on the day. Bank transfer, cash, whatever you and the owner agree — we never hold it.
- Set your own rates. No algorithm pushing you to undercut the sitter next door.
- Right of reply on reviews. One bad review shouldn't end your side income unanswered.
- See the whole job first. Full details, pets, dates and location before you say yes.
