1. What PetSit Mates is

PetSit Mates is an online introduction service that lets pet owners and pet sitters in Australia find each other. We are not a pet sitting business, an employment agency, or an agent for any member. We do not supervise, control or guarantee any sit, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with another member.

2. Membership and fees

Browsing is free. A paid membership unlocks member contact details and messaging. Membership is charged annually in advance. Founding members receive an initial free period as displayed at sign-up. You may cancel at any time; cancelling stops future renewals and does not automatically refund the current term, except as set out below or as required by the Australian Consumer Law.

30-day refund. If the service isn't useful to you, email us within 30 days of paying and we'll refund that year's membership in full.

3. Your arrangement with other members

Any care arrangement, price, payment, key handover or other agreement is strictly between you and the other member. We do not handle payments and never hold your money. You are responsible for satisfying yourself as to the suitability, honesty and capability of any member before entering into an arrangement.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, to hold any licence, registration or insurance the law requires for what you do, and to comply with all applicable animal welfare, local council and state laws. Sitters accepting animals into their own home should check whether their council requires registration or a permit for domestic animal boarding.

5. Reviews and conduct

Reviews must be honest, based on a real arrangement, and free of abuse or personal information. Members reviewed have a right of reply. We may remove reviews or accounts that breach these terms, and may suspend members who behave unsafely or dishonestly.

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that services are provided with due care and skill. Subject to that, to the extent permitted by law our liability arising out of your use of PetSit Mates is limited to resupplying the membership or refunding the membership fee you paid, and we are not liable for loss, injury, illness or damage arising from any arrangement between members.

7. Privacy

We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will note the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
